St George's Dance Studio
Interview with Ms. Jasmine DeBraga, Owner & Teacher
St. George’s Dance Studio opened in October 2020. It is a place where people can come together as a community and share the love of dance. We offer a large variety of classes and the option to set up private events and parties. With the growing numbers in class participation and the support of the town of St. George's, this studio will continue to strive and do well!
About Ms. Jasmine DeBraga, Owner & Teacher
I studied ballet for 12 years at Somerset School of Dance and completed eleven Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examinations. I participated in two American Ballet Theater Summer Intensives and multiple master classes of different genres of dances with well-known professionals; some being Brian Reeder of ABT, and Debbie Allen from Broadway. In addition, I have received six scholarships that went towards my dance practice.
As for teaching, I taught ballet for two years and swimming lessons to children ranging from the ages of 4 – 12 years old for four summers.
After studying Business Management in university, I knew I wanted to start my own business!
She offers several classes:
FAIRYTALE BALLET
Fairytale Ballet introduces toddlers ages 3 – 5 to dance in an exciting and creative way! This class is an introduction to Ballet terminology, correct body placement, and musical rhythms and is merged with characters, costumes and magical props! Children dress up in magical princess costumes, crowns, and much more!
ZUMBA
A Latin-inspired cardio dance workout that forms a fitness party atmosphere. This class begins with a dynamic warm-up and ends with a stretching. The workout portion is broken down by songs with a different dance routine for each song. You don’t need to be a great dancer to feel welcome! This class has dance moves designed to get your heart rate up and boost cardio endurance.
ZUMBINI
Zumbini is a 45 minute music and movement experience that includes dancing, singing, and playing instruments! It is designed for children 0 – 4 years old with a parent / caregiver. Value rests in the bonding and the social learning which occurs through a Multi Age communal setting. It is filled with many original songs created by Zumba Fitness! Zumbini focuses on energy, fun, and play to contribute toward the natural development of cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.
