Recap: Midshipman Dale Commemorative Service: February 24

We commemorate those who made the sacrifice.

It is an honor to gather once again to pay tribute to the memory of Midshipman Richard Sutherland Dale. At St. Peter’s Church, we solemnly commemorated the life of a young man whose courage and sacrifice exemplify the spirit of service to our nation.

Midshipman Dale's story resonates deeply within the annals of history, for he is counted among the final casualties of the War of 1812. It was on that fateful day of January 15th, 1815, when the echoes of conflict still lingered, that he was tragically wounded during a skirmish, even after the declaration of peace.

Ferry: 5 days a week.

Improved schedule starts soon.

After much work by town businesses, MPs, CSG, and the Ministry of Transport, the town will enjoy increased ferry service—a five-day schedule. The ferry offers an increased capacity of 250+ seats inbound for each trip; this increased capacity is equivalent to delivering 12 busloads of visitors at one time. General ridership to board the ferry is $5 per seat, so it makes it an affordable option for tourists to access the town.

Orange Route from Dockyard to St. George's. Look out for the forthcoming schedule that will be published on the Marine and Ports website.

If you have a passion for food, we invite you to patronize any of our Town dining establishments.
