Allen Van Putten was born and raised in St. George’s, Bermuda.  His education started at the East End Primary and then on to the St. George’s Secondary School.   After-which he attended the Technical division of the Bermuda College where he obtained a certificate in Carpentry, Masonry, Plumbing and technical drawings.  

After graduation he was hired as a plumber with Multiunit Plumbing Company, where he was invited to do a 6 month stint in Memphis Tennessee. Upon his return to Bermuda, he was hired as a skilled mason with Hi-Span Construction where he soon became a Foreman. He was employed with Hi-Span for over 20 years.

In 1997, he started Reis Construction and worked on several projects.  One of those projects was the refurbishment of the St. George’s Club units.

From 1999 to 2023, he was employed as the Building Manager with the Bermuda National Trust where he was responsible for the daily upkeep and strategic planning on all listed buildings. He was a former member of the Buildings Preservation Board.   Earlier this year [2023] Allen took on a part-time role with the Trust.
